Send a Message For Wisconsin Workers
Dear MoveOn member,
Over 70,000 teachers, students, nurses, firefighters, and more turned out in Madison, Wisconsin this weekend to protest Governor Walker’s attempt to pass a radical, union-busting budget bill and cut vital public services.
But Gov. Walker continues to insist he’s got a “quiet majority” of support, saying he’s getting more emails that approve of his plan than oppose it.1
We’ve got to make sure the intense opposition to his plan is heard not just in the streets, but online as well. So we’re collecting messages from people across the country that Wisconsin MoveOn members will deliver to Gov. Walker later this week.
Can you send Gov. Walker an online message right away? Let him know you oppose his attempt to use the budget crisis to curb the rights of workers and gut critical public services. Just click here:
This isn’t just a Wisconsin fight. With Republicans trying similar things in states all over the country, it’s important that progressives from coast to coast speak up to help set a precedent against similar attempts in other states.
Wisconsin has become the national rallying point in the fight that will decide whether our economy works for all Americans, or just the super-rich. Republicans are using budget deficits as an excuse to attack workers, cut funding for crucial public services, and threaten successful programs like Social Security.
Please send Gov. Walker a message today. And please make sure to be respectful but clear—we want all messages to reflect the civil and peaceful nature of these protests so far. Get started by clicking below:
Thanks for all you do.
